Making the book was a great opportunity to give all of these drawings and doodles a home. A lot of these were made in haste in hotel rooms or busses (or wherever) as the foundation for bigger ideas to be rounded out when I was more stationary and had the time, but looking at something you sketched out very quickly 10 years, 5 years, or one year ago is a lot like looking at something a stranger made. It was great to be able to pick through and shuffle up the timeline of all these past notions, and really satisfying to see them in one spot, done up so nicely.
Tunde Adebimpe is a musician, actor, director, and visual artist best known as the lead singer of the band TV on the Radio. He's fears he is losing his hearing and his edge and would very much like to get back to this whole drawing thing.
