Stephen Faillace is a self taught artist based in Brooklyn, New York. He likes to explore the subconscious mind and is interested in the relationship between the human condition and visual perception. His goal is to evoke emotion through the use of vibrant color, psychedelic patterns and occasional child-like illustration.
I made Snakes of Sierra Nevada after a week long trek through the Sierra Nevada jungle in northern Colombia. Along the journey I was able to come across a plethora of plant and animal life, including a few snakes. I decided do a series of snake paintings after being inspired by their unique patterns and endless ways they can contort their bodies.
