6 color screenprint on French 100lb cover, 24"x18", 2017
"KISS" originated from a series of wine party-themed drawings I made earlier in the year. Through out those drawings, recurring characters such as Dionysus, Death, and vintners sip and chug wine with one another in classic Bacchanal fashion. In "KISS", a couple make passionate love as Death and a bacchanal cheer them on. This series of work was largely inspired by the erotic Roman frescos of Pompeii, and my own experience growing up in and around the California wine industry.
