Deer in the Headlights: a Romantic American Tragedy in a Pickup Truck. This scene captures lovers in one last kiss before death, the road kill death of a big buck, the shimmering shatter of windshield, the American idyll of the country road snaking a sublime Wild West landscape, and the release of a swarm of spirits into the infinite starry cosmos. I prepped templates for this print by painting on layers of clear mylar, keeping every color isolated for translation into silk screen. This method is akin to my reverse painting process, so the methodology flowed organically from my studio to the Kayrock studio.
