My paintings and drawings are grid based and follow a blueprint created in advance, based on various geometric ideas and mathematical equations, and at various times, sports scenes, such as football game video stills and baseball cards. I then mark each work square-by-square and row-by-row, working from the bottom right corner across each row and then up the surface. I see my work as a way of writing structure, both mapping out and describing the act of shaping and seeing.
