I have been cultivating this city-line style for the past 7 years. Drawn with Muji's fine-liner range - and without the aide of light-boxes, tracing methods or even sketched pencil lines - the technique is purely improvised (with occasional reference to details specific to certain buildings and structures). Through channeling this drawing style, the process almost functions to prime my headspace for further drawings, paintings and writings by becoming so deeply immersed and concentrated on the urban environment of New York. Such details I wouldn't otherwise ponder were these lines not drawn; an idea made all the more curious by the contrasted experience of simply staring at New York's physical skyline.
Daniel started out his career drawing professionally while living in Aarhus, Denmark and is now based in Copenhagen. Traveling to metropolises all around the world on various projects, Daniel's work is diverse having created drawings for various online media articles, large scale window and wall murals, gallery exhibitions, and in collaboration with fashion designers, writers, and designers.
