In this print, two people hold flashlights during an unpredictable rolling power outage, otherwise known as a brownout. This image is part of an ongoing series of paintings based on brownouts as well as many other experiences from her recent visits with family in the Philippines.
MariaStabio is a first generation Filipino-American artist. She graduated with a BFA in Painting from Boston University and an MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University. She currently lives and works in rural Pennsylvania and Brooklyn, NY.
