As the celestial and geographic pole, it expresses a point of connection between sky and earth where the four compass directions meet. At this point, travel and correspondence is made between higher and lower realms. Within the central known universe a specific locale, often a mountain or other elevated place, gains status as center of the center, the Axis Mundi. Growing up in the mountains, I have long been fascinated with their sacred beauty and power. This print is based on a collage that I made which includes an arial photo from the plane flying over Utah, along with other drawn elements. In this image, four colored blocks are seen converging on each other, making this mixing explicit. The title of this work reveals this technical code, each colored block is related to an arrow, or the direction that it is moving to make this mix.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFlavio Trevisan is a Toronto based artist and designer. Some of my early memories are from hood-height, listening to conversations he had with a friend while rebuilding the engine of a vintage Camaro. The character in this print is a composite of several of my father's friends and co-workers I met when I was growing up in Missouri.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMatt Bollinger is an artist working primarily in painting, drawing, and animation.
